Collaboration <\/h2>\n
\n

The OKEON project seeks to foster an understanding and appreciation of Okinawa\u2019s complex ecosystems though a collaboration between scientists and society. The project conducts various local environmental surveys though cooperation and support from a wide array of organizations and people of Okinawa. We work in cooperation with local universities, high schools, museums, and governments to connect people with their environment. Over time we hope to create a generation which will continue to sustainably enjoy and appreciate the complex and beautiful environment that Okinawa provides. <\/p>\n

In order to promote collaboration, OKEON project’s coordinator Dr. Yoshimura gave a lecture introducing OKEON to his students, and two members of the sorting team (Toshihiro Kinjo and Shinji Iriyama) gave lessons on how to sort insects. <\/p>\n
